Designed to deliver dependable cornering grip, accurate steering and predictable handling, the Kryptotal Front is an excellent choice for children progressing from basic mountain bike trails to more technical enduro and downhill-style riding.
Featuring Continental's Trail casing, Endurance rubber compound and tubeless-ready construction, this premium 20 x 2.40 kids MTB tyre balances grip, durability and rolling efficiency.
Whether your child is riding technical woodland trails, practising at a bike park or preparing for a junior MTB event, the Kryptotal Front provides a performance-focused upgrade over many standard children's mountain bike tyres.
Looking for a Continental Kryptotal Front 20-inch tyre in the UK? Midlands Cycles has sourced this specialist junior MTB tyre, giving young riders access to a performance-focused front tyre designed for challenging off-road conditions.
Why Choose the Continental Kryptotal Front 20"?
Premium Front-Wheel Grip for Young Mountain Bikers
Front-wheel traction plays a major role in mountain bike handling, especially when riding steep trails, loose corners and challenging off-road terrain.
The Continental Kryptotal Front 20-inch uses a specially developed tread pattern designed to provide predictable steering and cornering performance across a variety of trail conditions.
For young riders moving on to technical trails, choosing the right front tyre can make a noticeable difference to confidence and control.
The Kryptotal Front offers the performance characteristics of Continental's established gravity MTB range in a smaller wheel size suitable for compatible kids' mountain bikes.
Front-Specific Tread for Cornering and Steering Control
Unlike the Kryptotal Rear, which prioritises drive and braking traction, the Kryptotal Front is optimised for steering precision and cornering stability.
The tread design is intended to maintain predictable grip when leaning into corners, changing direction and riding across mixed terrain.
Its strategically positioned tread blocks help create a balanced combination of traction, control and rolling performance.
This makes the tyre particularly appealing for children progressing onto more challenging natural trails, technical descents and junior enduro riding.
Endurance Compound – Reliable Grip and Long Life
The 20-inch Kryptotal Front features Continental's Endurance rubber compound.
This compound has been developed to balance traction, durability and rolling resistance, making it suitable for regular trail use.
While softer downhill-focused compounds prioritise maximum grip, Endurance rubber provides a practical balance for young riders who use their bikes frequently.
It is a suitable choice for parents who want a premium kids' MTB tyre without sacrificing durability.
Trail Casing – Durable and Tubeless Ready
The Continental Kryptotal Front uses Continental's Trail casing construction.
This casing is designed to provide a balance of durability, flexibility and manageable weight for trail riding.
Its tubeless-ready construction allows the tyre to be fitted without an inner tube when used with compatible wheels, suitable rim tape, valves and sealant.
Running tubeless can reduce certain types of punctures and allows tyre pressure to be adjusted for improved traction and comfort.
The tyre can also be used with a compatible conventional inner tube.
20 x 2.40" Wide Tyre for Stability and Confidence
With a nominal width of 2.40 inches, the Kryptotal Front offers a generous tyre profile for a 20-inch mountain bike.
The larger tyre volume can help absorb smaller trail impacts and provide a broad contact patch when used at appropriate pressures.
This is particularly useful for children learning to handle rough terrain, roots, rocks and loose surfaces.
Always check frame and fork clearance before fitting a wider tyre.
Designed for Mixed UK Mountain Bike Terrain
The Kryptotal Front is developed for mixed off-road conditions, making it well suited to the varied terrain found across UK mountain bike trails.
Whether riding loose woodland corners, rocky descents or compact trail-centre surfaces, the front-specific tread aims to provide dependable steering traction and predictable handling.
For young riders taking part in junior enduro events or developing their downhill skills, a suitable front tyre is an important part of their overall bike setup.
