The original. Just better. We took everything we learned from making and riding the original Deathgrip and created the Deathgrip2. Having spent years refining grip design with Brendan Fairclough, Olly Wilkins and the DMR Team, along with riders from around the world at all levels, we knew we were on to a winning formula. We kept the features that riders know and love, and added some fundamental improvements along the way.
The DMR Deathgrip2 features the grip pattern and layout that inspired a whole generation of mountain bike grips it starts with a soft mushroom section for comfort in the thumb and forefinger area, preventing blisters in a soft-tissue zone. Next, the grip pattern features diamond knurl for grip in all conditions and all terrains and the waffle layout underside holds your fingers in the perfect position for grip and control. A tapered core means the Deathgrip is firmly mounted onto your handlebars with ease and the use of just one lockring keeps things simple and tight. The krayton rubber grip compounds we use are soft and comfortable, yet durable and lightweight. Select thin or thick diameters, and with or without flanges the choice is yours.
We took these winning features of the Deathgrip, and then added:
An exposed core end for added durability for when the going gets rough.
A new injection-molded DMR end cap for added branding and colour coordination.
The DMR collar lockring is now slimmer, more refined, and more integrated with the grip outer.
The flanges are now slimmer with a new relief design and fresh DMR logo.
Millimetre-perfect positioning of mushroom, waffle, and knurl for the ultimate grip pattern.
Features
TAPERED CORE No need for outer lockring, with a secure hold.
WAFFLE For comfortable finger placement and confident grip.

"In my time, Ive burned through quite a few sets of the original DMR Deathgrip in the Race compound and thin diameter. I loved their tackiness and the great bar feel, and was happy to accept the reduction in padding for the boost in control. While my hands were never the most comfortable on them by the end of a days riding, up until a few years ago they would be my go-to grips.
"The Thin Deathgrip 2s represent some of the most connected feeling grips on the market, so if youre a rider looking for ultimate control, then they may be exactly what youre looking for. The Race compound is soft and relatively sticky, giving good bar traction whether gloveless or gloved. The updates to the grip have added refinement the new bar end is going to stand up to the test of time better."
"I wasnt able to create any notable wear on the DMR Deathgrip 2 Race grips in the time I tested them, so the Race moniker should not put you off from opting for the softer compound unless youre looking for a set of grips to last for a very long time. As one of the key touch points on the bike, Id always opt for the softer and stickier compound to improve performance"
"If youre looking for a quality grip with high levels of riding precision, then the DMR Deathgrip 2 Race Thin is likely to suit your needs- Loamwolf
"DMRs move to an exposed core end pays back well its a serious boost to overall durability. The hard end cap can put up with a good deal of abuse, and if youre one to catch trees with your bar ends, the end cap is much more likely to slide over the tree, rather than get caught up.
"Another benefit is the sheer amount of choice that the Deathgrip2 provides. Whether thats the rubber compound, flanged or flangeless models, grip diameter and colour, there are few rivals on the market that come close in that respect.- off.road.cc
